Hello wonderful world of escape artists and soon-to-be escape room fanatics!
Denise and Kara here, your favorite owners of Sprightly Escapes: The Denver Escape Room Experience. Well, actually we’re your only Sprightly owners, so yeah, hopefully you’re cool with that. ;-)
We recently took a much-needed vacation – small business owners can take vacations, too, right?! Yep, we closed up shop to spend time with friends and family, and of course, play as many awesome escape rooms as we could possibly play. #escaperoomaddicts
Many of you who know us, know that our obsession of escape rooms (plus our love for team-building #obvi) is ultimately what pushed us over the edge to bring our vision of Sprightly Escapes to life. We’ve officially played over 100 puzzle rooms (yes, we have a color-coded tracker that houses all of this information... for OVER ONE HUNDRED ESCAPE ROOMS... ACROSS THE COUNTRY), and we feel like we learn something new each and every time we play a different room.
So, what’s in store for this epic blog post, you ask?
We thought it’d be pretty nifty to share our traveling stories and highlight some of the escape room adventures we recently had across the country. From Tennessee up to the northeast, we covered multiple states and various styles of live escape games, so needless to say, we’re pretty pumped to share the scoop on some of our favorites.
Unique, Immersive and Awesome Escape Rooms
Seriously, we played two live escape games that rocked our world.
First off, major shout out to Nashville Escape Game! We played their new(ish) Mission: Mars room (a.k.a. their "premium escape room experience”), and It. Was. Awesome. Incredibly immersive experience, puzzles were logical (nothing felt like a stretch), and the set design was on point. Like, we felt like we were astronauts on this extremelyyyy important mission. The weight of the world was in our hands. Definitely one of the best escape rooms we’ve played so kudos to that crew.
After a recommendation from our friends over at Escape Room Addict, we ventured over to 5 Wits which has a few locations in the northeast. This team builds a more automated experience that essentially runs fully on tech. There’s very little reset involved for their staff, there’s not a game master or game facilitator, and you don’t ask for hints or clues – the computer (well, actually it’s the main character in that specific story) gives you clues as it deems necessary. Again, the set design was ON. POINT. here, too, folks. The tech that was infused into the room was not only brilliant from a design perspective, but it didn’t feel like other escape rooms that sometimes just use tech because they think it’s the new cool thing to do. Like... this was #legit. Definitely don’t want to give away too many secrets from our time at 5 Wits, but we recommend giving them a shout if/ when you’re ever in the northeast.
So yeah, these escape rooms were rad.
We needed an escape room booster, too, because, well, unfortunately we’ve been feeling in an escape room rut – meaning, we’ve played some puzzle rooms that were pretty good, but they just weren’t knocking our socks off.
Back to the point we mentioned previously - We of course love, love, love playing escape rooms because we’re hooked, but it also keeps us grounded and focused on the player perspective. We literally learn something new each time we play – whether it’s something related to the website or booking process, or customer service, or game design… set… immersion… the whole nine yards.
We always, always, always learn new things. #loveit
Here’s to Many More Escapes!
First off, isn't that picture just adorable? We happen to love it..
Secondly, cheers to all of you live escape game fanatics out there, and/ or to all of you who have yet to take the plunge (by the way, what are you waiting for?!).
Let’s keep escaping and supporting all of our escape room local businesses. Cheers to more awesome escapes in your future, friends!
Sprightly love,
Denise and Kara
PS. We may or may not have promised #solveitsunday riddle answers this time around. SHOOT. Well… we’ll just have to leave you on your toes a bit longer (muahahaha). Next blog post, Sprightly Fam… next blog post! ;-)
